Erskine

Erskine is a hamlet in Alberta, Canada, within County of Stettler No. 6. Previously an incorporated municipality, Erskine dissolved from village status on May 10, 1946, to become part of the Municipal District of Waverly No. 367.

Erskine is located approximately 12 kilometres (7.5 mi) west of Stettler, 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) south of Rochon Sands and 64 kilometres (40 mi) east of Red Deer. It was established in 1905 and named after British jurist Thomas Erskine, 1st Baron Erskine (1750–1823).

Attractions

Buffalo Lake Provincial Recreation Area
Also known to some as Boss Hill, this Provincial Recreation Area has one of three campgrounds on central Alberta’s Buffalo Lake.
Erskine Flea Market – Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays running May long Weekend until September Long Weekend. Find unique treasures, fresh produce, home baked goods and more, right at the NW Corner of Hwy 12 and Sec 835.
Flicks N Floats – An annual fundraiser that includes activities throughout the day including a parade and ends with a drive in movie. Happens the second weekend in September.
Erskine Cornhole Tournament – The inaugural tournament was held in May 2022 and was an overwhelming success! With cabarets, suppers, camping and of course some great cornhole competitions, you will want to make sure you watch for the next annual tournament coming up in spring.
